Longing for Gravity-
You are on a mission to Mars. Because of the length of of the journey, you will never be able to return to Earth. What about our blue planet will you miss the most?
—————————- No Return———————–
Mars is close now. I look back at mother earth, a tiny, blue dot. A new life awaits. Three more years in zero gravity. I can never return to Gaia. Unless I am willing to be cocooned for two years in the Gravity Readjustment Pod. I am not.
I continue to write stories, they flow endlessly through my fingers to the keyboard. But I miss the sensuous touch of pen on paper. My beloved Sheaffer Legacy fountain pen sits in my top pocket. I polish its gloss black surface daily, and then caress it for a moment. But without gravity, the ink, its lifeblood, will never flow again.
